The PC Tribe Leadership Team

Who We Are

The Leadership Team is composed of men from diverse professional backgrounds who are also prostate cancer patients and survivors. Their leadership is informed by lived experience and strengthened by real-world expertise. They understand firsthand the gaps in support that men face — and are committed to building programs that address those needs with accountability, purpose, and measurable impact.

Ken has been married to his wife, Pam, for 31 years, and together they have two sons and four grandchildren. He was diagnosed with metastatic adenocarcinoma in 2021, he was able to get a PSMA scan in December, 2021 and it guided his radiation treatment.   Since then he has been on ADT and secondary hormone therapies with PSA staying undetectable except for a recurrence in 2024, which was also successfully treated with radiation and his PSA is now undetectable. Ken spent the last 21 years working for a large regional bank, managing a branch and serving his community. As a PC Tribe admin and the Executive Director he is responsible for planning and budgeting the annual Rendezvous as well as short term and long term planning for the PC Tribe as well as serving on the Board of the Mohawk Mission as Chair of the Finance Committee. Ken was drawn to PC Tribe because it provides a unique, supportive space where men with prostate cancer can share their journeys, hopes, fears, and dreams with others who truly understand. Outside of the group, he enjoys playing golf, helping with the local chapter of the American Cancer Society, maintaining his longtime love for a ’72 Chevy truck, and spending time with his wife and family on countless adventures. His message to fellow members: “You’re not alone, brother — we’re stronger together.”

Ed has been married to Julie for 36 years, and together they have two children, five grandchildren, and two dogs. He was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer in June 2021, with metastasis to distant lymph nodes. He has undergone surgery, radiation therapy, and is currently on ADT. Ed retired after a 42-year career in the wine industry, specializing in sales and marketing, and brings extensive experience in small group leadership and chaplaincy. As PC Tribe’s Development Director, he also leads Zoom meetings and serves as a Facebook admin, working to develop new partnerships and funding for the organization. Ed joined PC Tribe seeking connection and understanding after the overwhelming sense of loneliness at diagnosis, and he found the men-only, peer-to-peer environment provided exactly that safe space. Outside of PC Tribe, he enjoys cooking, spending time with family and friends around the table, loving the outdoors, and cherishing time with his grandchildren and dogs. His message to fellow members: “This is a place where you can be you without having to put on a brave face.”

Bryan Wenger – Topeka, Kansas
Bryan has been married to the love of his life, Stacy, for 12½ years. They share their home with a cat named Oreo, two English Bulldogs named Daisy and Charlie, and a Beagle named Delilah. Bryan was diagnosed with Gleason 7 prostate cancer at the age of 37 and underwent a prostatectomy in August 2019. Despite an immediate recurrence with extra-prostatic extension and positive margins, he completed about 40 rounds of radiation and three years of ADT, and has been undetectable since. With Lynch syndrome, he acknowledges that other cancer challenges may lie ahead, but he faces them with resilience. Bryan has worked for an industrial distribution company for nearly 20 years, starting as a branch warehouse driver and now serving as a Supplier Pricing Analyst at the corporate office. As the longest-standing admin of PC Tribe, he helps organize the Rendezvous in the Kansas City area and proudly serves as the group’s “troublemaker, enforcer, and jack-of-all-trades.” Bryan’s motivation comes from his 16 years of personal cancer experience and the desire to support men navigating their own journeys in ways he wished had been available to him. Outside of PC Tribe, he enjoys long- and short-range shooting, hunting, golf, and working in the yard. His message to fellow members: “You’re not alone, brother — we’re stronger together.”

He was diagnosed with stage T4N1 prostate cancer in December 2018 and has undergone chemotherapy, surgery, radiation, and ongoing ADT treatment, which continues to keep his condition stable. After a 38-year career in the semiconductor industry, Dave retired from DuPont in 2017. Within PC Tribe, he leads the bi-weekly general Zoom calls and helps organize the annual Rendezvous. Dave was drawn to PC Tribe because it’s a men-only, prostate-specific community that offers genuine support and understanding. Outside of the group, Dave and Cheryl love to travel and have enjoyed many cruises around the world, and Dave also takes every chance he can to go fresh- and salt-water fishing. His message to fellow members: “You are never alone in your journey—we’re here to help in any way we can.”

Michael Czerniawski – Parsippany, New Jersey
Mike has been married to Diane for nearly 44 years. Together they have two grown children—a daughter, Kimberly, who is married to Louis and has given them their granddaughter Charlotte, and a son, Michael. He was diagnosed in October 2018 with stage IV metastatic prostate cancer and a PSA over 3,000. He immediately began ADT with monthly Lupron injections along with daily Abiraterone and Prednisone, and underwent immunotherapy (Provenge) in the summer of 2019. His PSA dropped to 0.02 and has remained there for more than five years. Currently on a treatment break, he continues to do well, with his PSA holding steady. His hope is to remain in remission for as long as possible. Mike is a retired longshoreman who spent 44 years working on the docks. As a PC Tribe administrator, he helps coordinate guest speakers for Zoom meetings and assists in organizing the annual Rendezvous. He is involved because he believes no man should fight prostate cancer alone and is passionate about raising awareness and encouraging men to get their PSA checked. Outside of PC Tribe, Mike treasures time with his family—especially his granddaughter—loves sports, and attends as many live music events as he can. His message to fellow members: “Never give up. No one fights alone.”
